01 — Getting started

Getting started and permissions

WNN blocks apps using Screen Time and Apple's Family Controls framework. This is the only way an iPhone app is permitted to hide or block other apps, which means WNN cannot block anything until you grant that permission.

  1. Open WNN and choose a mode — Career, Student, Athlete, Custom, or Healthy.
  2. When the system asks to allow Screen Time access, tap Allow. This prompt comes from iOS, not from WNN.
  3. Choose the apps and categories you want blocked during your windows. This picker is provided by Apple, and your selection stays on your device.
  4. Confirm your schedule. Blocking starts automatically when each window begins.
If you tapped Don't Allow by mistake, you can grant the permission later at Settings › Screen Time › App & Website Activity, then reopen WNN and set up your schedule again.

Requirements

If your device is managed by a school, employer, or a parent's Family Sharing account, the managing profile may prevent WNN from applying restrictions. In that case blocking will not work, and the restriction has to be lifted by whoever manages the device.

02 — Subscriptions

Cancel a subscription

WNN subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple, so cancellation happens in your Apple Account settings rather than inside WNN. There is nothing to email us about first — you can do this yourself in under a minute, and we cannot cancel it on your behalf.

On your iPhone or iPad

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap your name at the very top of the screen.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Tap WNN in the list of active subscriptions.
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription, then confirm.

On a Mac

  1. Open the App Store app.
  2. Click your name in the bottom-left corner, then click Account Settings.
  3. Scroll to Subscriptions and click Manage.
  4. Click Edit next to WNN, then click Cancel Subscription.
Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date. Apple processes renewals within the last 24 hours of a period, and a renewal that has already been charged will not be reversed by cancelling.

What happens after you cancel

If you cannot find WNN in your subscription list, you may be signed in with a different Apple Account than the one used to subscribe. Check Settings › your name › Media & Purchases to see which account is active.

03 — Subscriptions

Request a refund

Because Apple processes every payment, all refunds are issued by Apple. We do not receive your payment and have no ability to refund it directly. Apple decides each request under its own policy.

How to ask Apple for a refund

  1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com in any browser.
  2. Sign in with the Apple Account you used to subscribe.
  3. Choose Request a refund, then choose a reason.
  4. Select the WNN charge you want refunded, and submit.

You can also start this from your iPhone: open the confirmation email from Apple for the charge, and tap Report a Problem. Apple usually responds within 24 to 48 hours, and refunds can take a few more days to appear on your statement.

If Apple declines the request and you believe the charge was a genuine mistake — a duplicate charge, or a renewal you cancelled but were billed for anyway — email wnnapp1@gmail.com. We cannot issue the refund, but we can look at the purchase record on our side and give you something concrete to include in an appeal to Apple.
04 — Subscriptions

Restore purchases

Restoring is what you do when you already pay for WNN but the app is showing the paywall — usually after reinstalling, getting a new iPhone, or updating iOS.

  1. Open WNN.
  2. Go to the paywall or the subscription screen in settings.
  3. Tap Restore Purchases.
  4. Confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, or your Apple Account password if asked.

Your subscription should be recognised within a few seconds and the paywall should disappear.

If restoring does not work

Still stuck? Email wnnapp1@gmail.com with the date of purchase and whether you bought the monthly or yearly plan, and we will check the purchase record.

05 — Subscriptions

The 7-day free trial

To see exactly when your trial ends, open Settings › your name › Subscriptions and tap WNN. Apple shows the renewal date there.

06 — Subscriptions

Switch between monthly and yearly

  1. Open Settings, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions.
  2. Tap WNN.
  3. Choose the other plan from the options listed.

Moving from monthly to yearly usually takes effect straight away, and Apple credits the unused part of your current month. Moving from yearly to monthly usually takes effect at the end of the year you have paid for. Apple controls this timing and will show you what will happen before you confirm.

07 — Troubleshooting

Blocking

My apps are not being blocked at all

Almost always a permission problem. Work through these in order:

  1. Open Settings › Screen Time and confirm Screen Time is on.
  2. Confirm WNN still has Screen Time access. If the permission was revoked, reopen WNN and it will ask again.
  3. Open WNN and check that your schedule is active, not saved as a draft.
  4. Check the current time falls inside one of your windows. A window that ended will not block anything.
  5. Confirm the apps you expected to be blocked are actually selected in the app picker.
  6. Restart the iPhone, then open WNN once so it can re-apply the schedule.

WNN keeps asking for Screen Time permission again

iOS revokes Family Controls access when Screen Time is turned off and on again, when a Screen Time passcode is changed, or after some system restores. Grant the permission again and re-confirm your schedule. If it happens repeatedly, check whether another Screen Time or parental-controls app is also managing restrictions on the device — two apps competing for the same system can revoke each other.

A blocked app still opens

  • The app may not be in your selection. Apple's picker groups some apps into categories, and a category does not always include every app you would expect.
  • Some system apps cannot be blocked by any third-party app. Apple does not allow it.
  • The website version of an app opened in a browser is separate from the app itself. Block the browser or the relevant website category as well.
  • If the app was already open when the window started, close it fully and reopen it.

Do blocks survive a restart?

Yes, in normal use — the schedule is registered with the system and is not cancelled by restarting. But if a restart happens right as a window is opening or closing, the change can be applied late. Opening WNN once after a restart makes it re-check the schedule immediately.

Can someone delete WNN to get around a block?

Deleting the app removes its restrictions, which is required by Apple — no app is allowed to make itself undeletable. WNN is built as a commitment device, not a cage. It is meant to hold when you are tired or distracted, not when you are determined to break it.

How do I end a block early?

Use the escape hatch in the app. It ends the current window deliberately rather than silently, and the app records it — so the choice stays visible to you instead of disappearing. There is no hidden way out, and no penalty for using it when you genuinely need to.

Blocking stopped after I updated iOS

Major iOS updates sometimes clear Family Controls authorisation. Open WNN, grant Screen Time access again when prompted, and confirm your schedule is still active. If your app selection was cleared, reselect the apps you want blocked.

08 — Troubleshooting

Schedules and modes

My scheduled window did not start

  1. Check the schedule is active and set for today. Some schedules run only on selected days.
  2. Check the device time zone. Travelling across time zones shifts when windows open.
  3. Check that Low Power Mode was not on for a long stretch — it can delay background work.
  4. Open WNN. That alone re-syncs the schedule with the system.

Can I change my mode after setting one up?

Yes. Pick a different mode at any time from the modes screen. Changing modes replaces the active schedule, and any windows currently running end when the new schedule takes over.

My profession, sport, or class schedule does not match my real day

The Career, Student, and Athlete schedules are researched starting points, not rules. Edit any window inside the mode, or switch to Custom and build the day exactly as it is.

Why does WNN ask for calendar access?

Only to read events on your device so schedules can work around what is already booked. It is optional, it stays on the device, and WNN never uploads calendar data. You can refuse it and use WNN normally, or turn it off later at Settings › WNN › Calendars.

What is included for free?

Healthy mode is free forever, with no trial and no subscription. Career, Student, Athlete, and Custom modes require a subscription after the 7-day trial.

09 — Troubleshooting

Alarms and the lock screen

I am not getting WNN's alarms or reminders

  1. Open Settings › WNN › Notifications and turn Allow Notifications on.
  2. Turn on Sounds, or the alarm will arrive silently.
  3. Check Focus modes. A Focus that silences notifications will silence WNN's too — add WNN as an allowed app in that Focus.
  4. Check the ringer switch and volume.
  5. Check Scheduled Summary is not holding WNN's notifications until later in the day.

The lock screen widget is not showing

  • Live Activities need iOS 16.1 or later.
  • Open Settings › WNN and turn Live Activities on.
  • The widget appears while a window is running and disappears when it ends — that is expected.
  • Low Power Mode can suppress or freeze Live Activities.
  • If it is stuck showing an old window, dismiss it by swiping, then open WNN to start a fresh one.

The countdown looks wrong

Force quit WNN and reopen it so the widget re-reads the schedule. If the time is still wrong, check that the device clock is set to update automatically at Settings › General › Date & Time.

Billing

I was charged after cancelling

Cancelling within 24 hours of a renewal is usually too late — Apple has already begun processing it. Confirm the cancellation went through under Settings › your name › Subscriptions, then request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

I paid but the app still shows the paywall

Tap Restore Purchases, following the steps in Restore purchases. If it does not clear, force quit WNN, check your internet connection, and try again. If it still shows, email us with your purchase date.

The charge is not the price shown on the website

Prices are shown in US dollars. Apple converts to your local currency and adds any tax that applies where you live, so the final amount can differ. The exact price for your region is shown on the paywall before you confirm.

I need an invoice or receipt

Apple issues all receipts. Find them at reportaproblem.apple.com or in the emailed receipts from Apple. We do not have access to your payment details and cannot produce an invoice.

11 — Privacy

Your data, and deleting the app

WNN has no accounts and no sign-up. Your schedules, app selections, streaks, and settings live on your iPhone and are not uploaded to us. Because we never collect them, there is no account for us to delete on request.

Deleting WNN from your iPhone removes its data from the device and lifts any restrictions it had applied. If you want to keep the app but clear its history, use the reset option in the app's settings.

Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription. Cancel separately using the steps in Cancel a subscription.

The full detail — including what our subscription provider receives and your rights under the CCPA and GDPR — is in the privacy policy.

12 — Contact

Report a bug or request a feature

Email wnnapp1@gmail.com. For bugs, the fastest fix comes from a message that includes your iPhone model, iOS version, WNN version, the mode you were using, and the steps that led to the problem. A screenshot or screen recording helps more than any description.

Feature requests are genuinely welcome, and several things in the app exist because someone wrote in. There is no promise that a request will be built, but every one is read.

For anything about billing that Apple could not resolve, include the purchase date and the plan you are on.
