Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 August 2026

The short version

  • WNN has no accounts, and we do not collect your personal information.
  • Your Screen Time and app-blocking data never leaves your iPhone. We cannot see it.
  • Calendar access, if you grant it, is read on the device only and is never uploaded.
  • Our subscription provider receives an anonymous identifier and basic device information — nothing that identifies you by name.
  • We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not run ads or advertising trackers.
01

Who we are

WNN is an iPhone application operated by Matthew Ari Freedberg, an individual developer based in the United States ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to information when you use WNN, and it applies to the app and to this website.

Questions about privacy can be sent to wnnapp1@gmail.com.

02

Information we do not collect

WNN does not require an account and has no sign-up. We do not collect, store, or receive:

Everything you set up in WNN — your mode, schedules, blocked app selections, streaks, scores, and preferences — is stored locally on your iPhone. It is not sent to us and it is not stored on any server we control.

03

Screen Time and app blocking

WNN blocks apps using Apple's Family Controls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity frameworks, which are the only means Apple provides for one app to restrict another.

Apple designed these frameworks so that the developer cannot see what the user selected. When you choose apps to block, iOS returns opaque tokens rather than app names, and those tokens are only meaningful on your device. As a result:

Screen Time information is handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy. Granting WNN Screen Time access does not give us access to that data.

04

Calendar access

WNN can optionally read events from your device calendar so that schedules can be built around what is already booked. This access is entirely optional and the app works without it.

05

Subscriptions and the limited data involved

Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple. We never see your payment method, billing address, or Apple Account details. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

To know whether your subscription is active, WNN uses RevenueCat, Inc., a subscription management service. RevenueCat receives:

RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, or any of your schedules, blocked apps, or calendar data. It acts as our service provider and processes this information only to verify entitlements on our behalf. Its practices are described in RevenueCat's own privacy policy.

We use this information for one purpose: to determine whether the app should unlock paid features, and to understand aggregate subscription totals such as how many subscriptions are active. It is not used for advertising or profiling.

06

Notifications

WNN can send local notifications and alarms to tell you when a window is starting or ending. These are scheduled by the app on your device. They do not pass through our servers, and we do not receive confirmation of whether you opened them. You can turn notifications off at Settings › WNN › Notifications.

07

Analytics, advertising, and selling data

08

This website

This website is a set of static pages with no sign-up, no comment fields, and no advertising or analytics trackers. It loads a web font from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers that includes your IP address; that request is subject to Google's own privacy policy. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs for security and reliability.

09

Children

WNN is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, there is nothing for us to hold. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us in some way, contact wnnapp1@gmail.com and we will investigate and delete anything found.

10

Retention and security

Since your schedules and settings stay on your device, retention is in your hands: deleting WNN removes that data from the iPhone. Subscription records held by RevenueCat are kept for as long as needed to manage entitlements, and are governed by RevenueCat's retention practices.

Data on your device is protected by iOS security, including the device passcode and Apple's encryption. Requests between the app and RevenueCat are encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but the amount of data at risk is deliberately kept as close to zero as the app allows.

11

Your rights in California (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

In practice, we collect no personal information that identifies you, we sell nothing, and we share nothing for advertising. There is therefore no sale to opt out of and no profile to disclose. You may still make a request at wnnapp1@gmail.com and we will respond within the time the law allows, usually 45 days. For the anonymous subscription record, tell us your purchase date and plan so we can locate it.

12

Your rights in the EU and UK (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Legal bases

Transfers

We are based in the United States, and RevenueCat processes data in the United States. Where personal data is transferred out of the EEA or UK, it is done under appropriate safeguards, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

To exercise any right, email wnnapp1@gmail.com. Because we hold no information identifying you, we may be unable to locate a record without details such as your purchase date and plan, and in some cases we may not be able to identify you at all.

13

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new "last updated" date. Material changes will also be noted in the app. Continuing to use WNN after a change means you accept the updated policy.
